Is it just my area (East Texas) or was this statewide? I did not see a single bluebonnet this year. I don't know what could have happened. Does anyone know about this?
No Bluebonnets!!!
We have had some around here, but nothing like other years, our winter was too dry.

Tons in Brenham, absolutely blanketed from late March to first week and a half of April. Gone now, though.
Out in the wild areas, they need some rain to germinate...then they need a certain amount of rain to develop properly over the winter. It's been VERY dry in my area since last summer.
We had rain, and we always have had bluebonnets! I miss them! Well, I mean I missed them as it is too tlate now. We have always had tons! There wasn't a single one!
We have a few and they are only in the beds where I water. But don't worry, the seeds are still there and if we have rain at the right time, they'll come up. You have to look close, but they start coming up in the summer.
Just a few here, and we usually have lots. I watered some, but not nearly enough, and I think they know the difference in good soaking rain and city water. The seeds are still there, so perhaps next year will be fabulous!
