Stamps are going up a penny on May 12th. If it helped get the mail there quicker it might and I say might be worth it. I can't believe that they are going up again.

I know what you mean Diane! It may only be a penny on stamps but I'm wondering what they are going to do with the flat rate box prices etc?? They've been giving those much bigger jumps each time!

They say the gas prices are making a lot of things go up. I don't think my SS is going to stretch to meet the hikes of things.
I thought I heard that postage stamps were going from 37 cents to 41 cents? Amazing isn't it .. seems like they are raising rates every year anymore! I overheard a clerk at the P.O. telling someone they had gotten in a lot of 1 cent stamps because people were going to be needing them. I buy the forever stamps ... hmm, maybe I should go get a few books before the rates go up in a couple of weeks! The forever stamps don't have an amount on them ... and they never go up in cost, so you don't have to add the penny stamps to the old stamps when you mail a letter!
They are going from 41 to 42 on the 12th of May. If you add the 1cent stamps everyone is going to have to buy that is a lot of money.
What I did I got 100 Forever stamp and I don't send alot of mail out so for now 41 dollars sounded better than $42.00 and they will last forever

I tried before I left to go to the USPS online site and order the #7 boxes and they say they are out. They are not out of them..........they want you to buy the new flat rate one that is one 51/2" tall for 12.95. The number seven box is 8" tall. I am furious at the post office. I refuse to order those flat rate that are only 51/2" tall. Few plants fit in that box safely anyway!
The postman at the downtown office down the street from where I work . . . he said the price of stamps was going to be raised 1 cent a year for the next 5 years.
