Looking good, Post some of your photos in Plantfiles. The veggie people never post very many photos and many entries have neither photos or comments.

Bull's Blood beets are the best! The leaves are wonderful in a "flower" garden and the beets are really sweet. I put the young leaves in salads and steam the big ones for greens. I'm trying growing it with golden chard this year,

Hey ya'll,
I'm also growing beets (for the first time). Paul, how close are your beets growing? I didn't really thin mine out much, and I'm wondering if they're growing too close. I'm not growing the Bulll's Blood, but some other variety. How do I know when they're ready under the soil?

And, how do you "cook" beet greens? I'm a pro a cooking other greens, so if it's the same way, then no problem. Just LMK. Thanks.

Finally, I'm growing a row of Swiss Chard (first time, too) in the same bed with the beets. When are they ready? And what do you do with them when they ARE ready? Never had Swiss Chard before...

Thanks,

Linda

P.S. Here's the bed they're growing in, underneath the Kentucky Wonders and the Sugar Snap Peas. Haven't taken a recent pic yet. This is the early bed photo.

Thanks Paul!

My beets are red, and I actually like the roots (the beet). When are the beet greens and the swiss chard ready to harvest?

Thanks, Guys! Now, can ya'll tell me why my KW green beans leaves are turning a speckled copper color? Also, the Sugar Snap peas are not thriving at all. IN fact, they're a dusty white and not climbing up the trellis. Am I doing/not doing something? Which fungicide should I be heading for? I have Ortho Garden disease Control to start...LMK. Thanks.

I'm guessing it is too warm for the peas.
