Nest Watch
Thanks Pelletory! What fun. I am entering my 3 bluebird boxes. I am already a member of the lab of ornithology, but had never used the nest watch part of the site before. Well, I never had reason to, because in my former yard, I only knew I had a house sparrow nest. Ugh...
As it turns out, I think I also had a chipping sparrow nest in my spruce in that yard, which I discovered in my spring yard cleaning this year. It was a small nest, very tidy, lined with fur from my dog (greyhound) whom I frequently brushed in the yard. I had noticed chipping sparrows in the yard a lot but didn't realize they had nested. I am in the process of selling that house now, so am not there very often and don't know if the sparrows came back.
Thanks for posting this link!
Claire
