How to take cuttings from plumeria? Some branches are very long. Cut the whole branch and leave it long or cut shorter? Let it dry or put immediately in soil? And what time of year? They are flowering now. Any and all info needed.
Thanks

Plumeria
tilly, my plumeria are the same way. i have been trimming the leaves so to make room for my other plants. it is best to wait till hybernation to cut that way less stress to the plant. and that way you can see how you want the plant to grow next season. a good link is http://www.plumeria101.com
good luck and have fun

tilly glad you liked the site. i switch between super bloom and miracle grow. every 10 to 14 days. i do have mine in full sun and they keep branching and reblooming. i am going to get a lot of cuttings this year. they just went crazy. i have them in very rich soil in a raised bed. i had them potted last year and one in part shade they did not do as well as this year.
what color do you have mine are yellow and i started seed of a white or pink not sure what color will come of it.

I have yellow and pink. They are close and intermingled since I didn't have a clue when I stuck them in the ground. Most of this "clump" is in shade and one part sticking out and getting more sun is blooming more. Nearly all the plants I see around me are in full sun, Our sun is horribly hot right now, but they seem to be doing well. I want to start new plants and try to keep a nice shape. Currently they have some very long "arms" and some shorter. Looks like the long arms are trying to reach light, so don't know that shade is too good, even though they will bloom. Poor things get only reuse water, no fertilizer, but have very healthy leaves.
