My poor Japanese Maple was damaged by our roofer replacing our roof last weekend and now we are going to trying moving it out to the back yard. Here is a photo of the flower bed in the front of our house (this photo was taken 2 years ago in February when the tree was happy). We have ripped out the golden globes and will be taking out the split Jap Maple and maybe put a new one in. I would like to keep the Cherry Laurels in the back of the bed but what can I put on either side of the new maple? Or would you use something else there?
