My loot from the Newcastle swap

Everett, WA(Zone 7b)

Everyone was so great, and explained all the plants so well, and I heard it all... unfortunately I had "RAM failure" on the way home that day, and anything unlabeled no longer has an identity that I can remember. Ugh. I used to have the best memory, all the way up to my first pregnancy... its amazing what kids do to ya. Anywho, can you guys/gals remind me what these plants are again, and I will promptly plant and label them. I am going with Gordon on the DG garden bed, will take pics once its all planted and labeled.

I have the same problem, Stacy, and I don't have two small children. Memory is for young people, apparently. LOL

#1 Pink pulmonaria, I think
#2 Cyclamen hederifolium - little pink or white flowers.
#5 Native - but I can't remember the name. Little white flowers. You may already have some in your yard.
#6 Hellebore

Thanks Kathy! You know so much, doesn't seem like you have any memory leaks! :)

It definitely moves. Tomorrow I may know 3 and 4 have forgotten the rest . . .

# 5 is minor's lettuce - native plant

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

#1 could also be a pink Myosotis (forget me not). Pulmonaria leaves are wider, no?
Nice colour, what ever it is...

#4 looks like Phlox, but.....

#3 looks really familiar - have to think about it.

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

#1 Could be - this would be the second time I had trouble making out the difference in a picture.

Miner's lettuce. Good to know. Thanks, WillieB.

Thanks all! I will take these IDs and research more, and label!

I think 3 is a poppy (papaver) of some sort.

4 could be phlox, or could it be alstromeria?

#1 is definitely a pink myosotis. I have the same one in my yard. It's Myosotis sylvatica compacta which has a tidier habit than the more common blue myosotis alpestris. I think the variety it "Victoria Pink".

I am unfamiliar with some of the things discussed here. What was the Newcastle swap?
Is Newcastle a place?

A get together of a bunch of you to trade plants?
Do you plan very many of these things?

Betty, we do this allot, we have plant swaps and outings like to Dragonfly farms, in Hansville. And to Jim's (Hostajim) house in Port Orchard. we also have work parties, One was at Pix's and the other was a Rachels, which are so much fun. Their is a planing party at Sheri's (outta) on the 17th. In PA
And I have a paint party Hope fully on the 29th of June. to paint a trailer into a gypsy wagon.
We have lots of fun.,

Hi Betty -

Thanks for piping up and asking - we get so involved that we forget that it's not so clear to newcomers.

We have a thread that has a link to the dates of events (and this includes impromptu plant swaps and work parties as well as formal events by other organizations). Susybell is the one who keeps this up to date for us right now, based on what people ask to have added in the thread.

Usually, if someone wants to host a plant swap or have a work party at their house, they start a thread with the topic and propose a time and or a date. Because we digress a lot in this group, sometimes there is information about that event spread through other threads, but most often we keep details about events separate and in their own threads.

Right now, Outtamygourd is having a planning party at her house in Port Angeles next Saturday and Tillysrat is having a work party at her house on the 29th of June or thereabouts. If you're interested in coming to either of those events, sent them a d-mail (e-mail through this site) or post that you're interested on the thread.

We don't have any home-hosted plant swaps scheduled, to the best of my knowledge, but there is a "Green Elephant" plant swap in November at the Episcopal Church in Redmond and there will for sure be a thread about it as we get closer to that date. That happens twice a year and is coordinated by the vicar of that church.

Hope that helps!

Kathy
