challenging plant ID, anyone know?

Houston, TX

I have seen this growing in front of Joshua's Native Plants. He (the owner) is not even sure what it is so I took a picture to see if anyone here can ID. I will say its leaves are very fragrant. It certainly looks like a salvia...

It surely does look like salvia, but I can not tell which one.

Are the blooms pink? Last Saturday I went to a seminar at Arbor Gate in Tomball and the speaker was Heidi from Treesearch Farms. She spoke about a plant she called "pink surprise" that she was given and had grown, but lost the tags. I got one and it sure looks like what the one in the picture. i agree it looks like a salvia. perhaps if you posted in the salvia forum they might be able to help...there are a lot of real experts over there.

Teacup, you were @ Arbor Gate last Sat? Girl, so was I.
Since I work for Heidi, everytime I show up @ one of her talks, she wonders why. I tell her she keeps me behind this puter all day, every day & I want to know more about the plants we grow! lol

Yes, Smockette, I saw you there but you were involved in conversations with someone and I didn't catch your eye..I was too busy running to get one of those pink surprise bushes and the other yummy things Heidi spoke about. My husband told me that the garden is looking really nice and when he comes home for lunch he likes to walk through it every day and it relaxes him. This coming from a man who thought everything looked like a weed when we were first married.(it only took 30 years to educate him.lol)
