please excuse typing errors and brief messages as I am on a makeshif table next to the couch typing on my laptop
you will enjoy what it is made of... one of those kneeler/sitter things that you use in the garden witbh a rc crown cola old b ox turned upside down with the computer on top.
have had 5 surgeries for knee. Have MRSA. have been on every antobotic known to man
still can't walk only have a spacer in kneecap right now. still one more surgery to get real fake knee.
as you can figure I haven't done ANY gardening to say the least... I can't even see it except when going to docs cuz there isn't an easy way to get out of my house. I'm a prisoner of steps and bad walkway.
sorry tired will write later
where and what has been happening to me
Oh, renatelynne! I feel so bad for you. MSRA is a killer. When I had surgery last year I had it and was in bed for 2 months. When I got home I had to learn to walk all over again and that ain't easy when you're over 75 and had abdominal surgery. The drugs are horrible and something makes you lose your memory - maybe the pain meds or the antibiotics or something. That was last summer for me and I'm not 100% yet. (There are those who would say I've never been 100% but they are just jealous.)
Keep the faith The flower beds are still there and sometimes there are surprises in there that you forgot about. Can you believe that a pink polka dot plant not only survived but multiplied in my garden; the brug actually bloomed several times and the hibiscus never looked better? I'm just glad to still be here. That MSRA needs to be eradicated. It is so horrible....
Glad to see you are posting again. This keeps your spirits up, I think. Even if you can't post at least you can lurk.
Ann
renatelynne, I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad time with your knee. I can empathize about being a prisoner in your own home having spent two months in a wheelchair after a very bad broken ankle. Glad to hear that you are a little better. I'll keep you in my prayers.
Veronica
renatelynne, I hope you're feeling better and up and about soon. Maybe the next surgery will leave you ready to leap small gardens in a single bound, well, at least maybe small plants! Wishing you all the best,
Crow
Hello Nada, sorry to hear that things haven't improved yet. Keep the faith and try to keep a positive attitude, and I hope all will be well soon.
Josephine.
You poor thing! We're glad you're back to posting a little anyway. We'll be praying for your recovery and your upcoming surgery.
Nada, I was wondering why I had not seen you in the Garden & I thought it was just b/c I broke my shoulder in January & had not been in it myself for months.
Brighter note for you....Remember those big ole' lantanas I was going to give you, well, I was out in my yard giving them their spring haircuts yesterday! lol
Hope this next one does it for you! Let us hear when you feel like sitting @ the puter for a while!!!
:~)
Renatelynn, It's good to hear from you. Been wondering what happened. I'm going to plead ignorance though. What is MRSA? Whatever it is, it must be a real challenge. I was on a lot of antibiotics last year too because of my teeth, but most of them are out now, so I am hoping this year will be better. Here's hoping this year is better for you too.
Mary Lee, it's a nasty staph infection that is resistant to most of the antibiotics out there. It's awful. :-( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mrsa
renatelynne -- sending you healing hugs: {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
I have a friend who had the same surgery and she is doing fantastic now that it's all over. You'll be glad eventually! In the meantime, you get to plan gardens! Let us hear from you.
So sorry to hear that! My Aunt in Indiana, in her 80's just had surgery and has it also!!!! Hope you get over it SOON! Our prayers are with you!!!!!
Jeanne
Renate, I'm so sorry to hear you've had a rough go of it lately. MRSA is no fun at all! Praying your up and on the mend soon and that your knee surgery is successful.
I hope you beat this MRSA soon. Do you have exercises for your leg, so you can be as strong as possible after your surgery? That is quite an ordeal, I hope you are better soon.
Nada, I feel SO bad for you! But I'm glad you're reaching out to us. Those superbugs are a heck of a thing to live with! DH had two of them a few years ago when he had liver abscesses. He went through lots of antibiotics also...they finally had him on a couple of them rarely ever given because of the severe side effects. It was scary. But he survived...and you will too, because you won't give up! We finally got a deck lift this year (he already had a scooter and a truck lift). It sure comes in handy when he's feeling real bad and has to go somewhere. Hang in there, lady!
I am just so happy for you that they found that horrible staph in time to get it under control. My infant grandson almost died at birth 4 years ago. If he hadn't been at Texas Children's Hospital, I think he would have.
Take care of yourself and we are so sorry to find out what you have been through.........wishing you lots of rest and total recovery as soon as you can.

That is nothing to mess with from what they have said on the news. Hate to hear you have been through so much and still looking at another surgery. I am in agreement that the anthesia drugs kill your memory response. I feel like I am in a fog for months after surgeries.
If I lived closer I would offer my services and see if we couldn't get up a weed pulling party at your house. My T & P are with you.
Sheila_FW
thanks everyone.
yea my hoa is all up in arms.... I told them I would get it done as fast as I could. I can't even leave my house without help. pull weeds and clean up? *giggle yea right
That's the trouble w/HOA's - all rules and no real help. Tell them you are invalided for right now and if they want things done why don't they get someone to help you out. Seems they take your money, tell you you can't paint your house that lovely lavender color you were planning and threaten you if you don't follow strict hard & fast rules, CAN take you to court. I have lived w/HOAs for many years - since '72 - and for the most part they are on your side. Now is they will only have a heart.............

If you hired someone to mow, etc., no telling what plants they would pull up or mow over thinking they were common weeds! Even I pull up a lot when I first see it not thinking about what I planted there. Did that this afternoon in fact. I just got my first start of Queen Annes Lace and was along the far fence, saw it and yanked up the little one thinking it was that beggar's lice. But, caught myself and took the babe in and repotted it.
Hope you get on your feet soon. Maybe this next round will be what you need.
I always have enough beggar's lice to populate the world!
Good to hear from you again, Nada! We'll pray that your final surgery will go smoothly and your recovery quick....with no further problems! Hang tough!
