Boy, I would buy 1 of those if I saw it!! You have the best nurseries where you are! Do you remember how much they were?
Thanks

Wow, never have seen a variegated one, they look great! I have 2 of the solids and they are doing real good, potted up in large pots now and getting bigger.

The variegateds are about $90 each... not bad since when I first saw these for sale they were 1/4 that size and about the same price. but now these are rapidly becoming common at several locations.. what is interesting to me is that they are almost all the exact same size... probably all from the same massive cutting event some years ago (I got mine from a totally different source, and is grown, and it is, too, about this same size now). This nursery is 4 miles from my home. Tempted to get more, but have no more room. The down side of these variegateds is they do not seem to form the same bulbous trunk and that is reportedly not that unusual for cuttings made from any Beaucarnea.

Thanks for the info. I so want to make a trip South!

Yeah, but by the time you pay for the gas, it costs twice as much!
So, we'll have to check around here, Berkeley nurseries and other specialty ones.

But Sue, we will be buying lots of plants so that brings the cost down again. LOL

Hmmm, well there's no trouble convincing me as it makes perfect sense but I doubt DH can see the logic in that!

Trust me, by the time we get back home, we will actually have made money.
