In my yard, the feeders that get visited most often by the chickadees are the ones containing peanuts and safflower seeds. I had several successful years of nestings by the chickadees, but stopped providing a house for them after a recent year in which blue jays were particularly aggressive and nearly wiped out their babies. It was stressful to watch.
