Hi, my name is Lynn, 38, and I'm in N St Pete near Sawgrass Lake Park. I love to garden and have been in Florida 2.5 years now and still getting the hang of it :) Tropicals are my favorites. Any emails of advice or garden friendship are welcome!

Hi Lynn !! Welcome !! Where did you live before you moved to Florida ?
Welcome Lynn :-)
hello and welcome frolm upstate new york. we hve alot of gardeners from florida and they just love to talk.
I was in SC for about 4 years, then London for 4 years before that. Born in Ohio. Started most of my gardening in SC in the clay, now learning all about sand :)
Oh yeah, I got the clay--- I think I would like the sand---easier to dig and pull weeds, faster growth, and better drainage.
Ha! I think after comparing them both, I agree with you soapwort243, sand is much easier than clay. It takes very little effort to dig holes and pull up weeds. However, I think you spend that spared effort in watering 3x more often then with clay too :)
Hi Lynn and Welcome to DG.
Hope is right, you'll have lots of gardening buddies in no time at all.
You're right about watering so much here in the sand!
I don't know if you've found it yet or not but there is a Florida Forum and several people that live in your area are on there regularly.
