Before you ask, I have no idea what passionvine this is, was labeled gloria moreno, am pretty certain it is not. Anyways, on the interior edges of the leaf, there are these tiny protrusions, what are they?
things on interior leaf edges?
They must be nectaries, right? I've just never seen them look like that or have that placement. Do a lot of passies have nectaries there?

Those could be butterfly egg mimic structures. Some passies have them to discourage the butterflies from laying eggs.
Yep, aren't they normally called mimic nectaries? They just look different to me and I had not seen them in that location.

AZ, I just ordered a large Gloria Moreno out here in So. Cal. And they sent me the same thing, I believe it was Purple Haze. I have pics of Gloria Moreno if you'd like to see some.

AZ, I went out and checked my vine and it will have a brand new flower either today or tomorrow. I will take pics and post to the passiflora forum. I should have added that I do have the actual Gloria Moreno vine, I was trying to add a 2nd one to my collection and that is when the whole saler sent the wrong vine.

This plant originated at a CA nursery, ABC I think, same one by any chance?
Since I have you on the line.........
I would love to grow one of the banana type passies where the flower extends from the tube. I have read P. mollissima (sp) doesn't handle hot summers. Is there one that might do well here?

Lynn, the real Gloria Moreno does have the long tube but I don't know if it sets fruit at all. ABC is the company that tried to copy and distribute this plant and as we already know, it is the wrong one. Gloria Moreno will have serrated (spelling) edges on the leaf. I'll take a pic later today and send when I send the flower pic. By the way, the flower did not open today but looks loose so it should by tomorrow.
