I'm still trying to find an avocado variety that I can risk in this hardiness zone and while re-reading the CRFG article - http://www.crfg.org/pubs/ff/avocado.html - I was reminded that squirrels will strip the fruit. The darling little rascals already beat me to most of the pecans, so I'm wondering if the recommended protection - tin trunk wraps - can be used on pecan trees as well. Anyone know what these devices look like, where they can be purchased or how they can be made?
