Peppermint?

Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

I bought one plant just to try and see if I could get it to grow..
Any ideas what to use it in?

I use mine in ice tea and make bath teas with it as well. Just watch where you put it, it will spread all over the place!

I just pick all my mint varieties together and dry them for tea.The most flavorful mint I have is the native wild one that I've transplanted into my beds. They really smell good when they are drying. Some I dry in my dehydrator, some I vacuum seal & freeze to dry during the winter.

It goes nice with chocolate as well. Also with strawberries. Or in an ice tea in summer!

Grow it in pots or it will take over your entire garden!

Put a whole leaf in each "box" of an ice cube tray, fill with water, and freeze. SO pretty and flavorful in iced tea! (Can do the same with lemon balm.)

In addition to the good ideas above...Fruit salad with some chopped mint is very good. You can make mint jelly. You can make minted sugar by placing a few leaves of mint in a jar of sugar and sealing it up for a week or two. Take mint leaves out and sieve sugar to take out lumps.

Iced tea with mint, or even hot tea with mint and sage, and mint tea. You can make a wonderful dipping sauce with mint and yogurt as a starting point. Here's a link http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,1977,FOOD_9936_31219,00.html for mint and basil pesto on rack of lamb. My only caution would be the warning that if you're putting it in the garden it can be invasive. I have to keep it in pots or it spreads everywhere. (I keep it in BIG pots because I love the stuff!)

Big pots are also good because mint seems to get rootbound pretty quickly... it's tough, but after a while it gets unhappy.

Here's my dad's recipe for lamb-burgers with fresh mint. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=3626372

A strong mint tea(no sweetener) makes a great hair rinse.

What does it do for your hair besides making it smell great?

Flora, IN(Zone 5a)

It makes your scalp feel real cool and refreshed.
They actually use it in some shampoos like pert ''fresh''

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

OK -- I'll keep that in mind this summer. Maybe I'll pour a pot of strong mint tea into my bath... there are days when all of me could do with a bit of "real cool & refreshed" LOL.

It is nice to add to your bath when you have a sunburn also.

Or when you have a cold. Add some eucalyptus as well, then!
