I was blown away when I got on the KC Noxious list and found Euphorbia myrsinites on it. King County has it on their watch list, and I found that Washington State has it on their B list, as it is already invasive in Grant and Pend Orielle County.
Yep. Its in my garden. I picked it up as a plant that would overhang the concrete wall by the street. I will be trashing it in the next few days before it sets seed. No, you can't have it.
I also see where Kudzu is rampant near Vancouver, it was only on one property that bordered forest land. Yikes!
And all I wanted to find was a place I could find Giant Hogweed to watch grow. Its the only invasive plant that I want to see fully grown. All others can go to the ash can.
Invasive Weed List
Kudzu - finally. I heard people talking about it on the east coast 25 years ago . . . we kept it away for awhile.
Analogdog, I've read about this subject somewhere. but did you know, that nurseries carry some noxious weeds like Ivy, and the law states that they can be asked to stop carrying any noxious weed except when it would incur over $100 in losses to the nursery then it would be okay for them to sell it. I have a neighbor who doesn't care about their property and what grows on it. so there's 5 kinds of noxious weeds on the property next to me, that are blowing seeds into my property. aaaarrrrgh!!!!! what do you do? Jim
That is hard! Our neighbors aren't too bad, they try to keep their yards in line and stuff, but I think they don't realize some of their plants and how invasive they are. I am not sure they are on the noxious weed list, but they have some nasties... that creeping buttercup, while nice and healthy and green, somewhat nice looking, it AWFUL! So many icky things... and there is no way to stop them!
Does anyone have a link to the snohomish county noxious weed list offhand? I am sure I can find it, but I am just lazy. LOL Am surprised about the Euphorbia... I just discovered it and really liked it. Bummer. But some type of Buddleia is also on that list... must not be ours, because ours is well-established and not spreading in the least.

Hi Ad I have the big hogweed and it got up to my second story window, It is pretty cool but I'm trying to get rid of it since it is on the list. It was here when we bought the property and I didn't know what is was but thought is is very cool. Seeds basd but I'm on it . cool though.
I just got a 2 hour presentation on Noxious Weeds from the woman that runs KC's Noxious Weeds program.
Watch out for the GH as it has a chemical in the juices that will make your skin ultra-sun sensitive and cause severe burns. Notes on removal are available through KC: http://dnr.metrokc.gov/wlr/LANDS/weeds/hogweed.htm
