Dud bulbs?

In the fall I purchased a bag of 70 dafodill bulbs from BJ'S wholesale store. I planted some at 2 cemetaries and some at my house. Atleast half of them did not blossom. They lived but are just leaves. Is it because they were cheap bulbs or did I do something wrong? Or, do they sometimes take more than 1 year to blosssom? Thanks for any help.

It is hard to say. It is possible they were old bulbs..thus sold at a discount place . It could have been to much fertilizer if they are near a grassy area. (possible at a cemetary) The fact that they put out leaves is a good sign. I would give them another year..perhaps they will recover.
