I don't have a picture right now, but I have a plant that I can't identify. We got this from a friend years ago as seeds (as best I can remember they were bright red, about 1/4" long and soft, like a tiny plum). The leaves are about 18-24 inches long, 2-3 inches wide and shaped very similar to a bird's nest fern. I have pretty much ignored it for years in one corner of our "retreat" (also known as the koi pond jungle). It is in a clay pot about 4 sizes too small, and it's almost growing epiphitically right now (with masses of 8" long, orchid-like roots) since it seems to have eaten almost everything out of the potting soil except for the perlite and the bark. It's been in full shade for years and seems to be doing ok on its own. I'll try to get a picture, but if anyone has even a vague idea what it may be or where to try to look for it, I'd be very appreciative. Jim
Pictureless plant ID
Amygirl- Thanks for the hint. I'll go check the plant files and see if it may be in there. Who knows, I may actually find time to get a picture this weekend (AS IF !! ) and get it posted. Thanks again Jim
Amygirl- You were absolutely right, it is a bird nest anthurium. All I have to do is isolate exactly which one it is (there are only about 8-10 of 'em - piece o' cake, right? LOL) Thanks again for your help- Jim
