ducks for profit

Plymouth, MI

I am raising ducks this year, what is the recommended price per lb of duck meat these days? anyone know? thanks!

Williamsburg, MI(Zone 4b)

We usually sell a whole duck (cleaned and plucked) for $15.00 to $20.00. Not a great price when you considder all the work and plucking, but then we don't do it on a large scale or have a good market.

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

we get 10 for ours, still walking. i can barely pluck what we eat LOL

What kind of ducks do you sell Tamara?

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

Muscovies. we got white pekins for eggs, but it looks like they are all males. they were messy and smelly and a lot of work. i like it better when Popeye and Olive have their own babies. they had eleven their first year [second try]. we still have three... Rufus T Riley, Taz, and Christmas...

I think i'm going to raise geese again for profit, and just skip the ducks.

yeah know, i have figured out that raising poultry is addictive, i started out with chickens, then i wanted ducks, then turkeys, now i am about to hatch 50-60 pheasants

Luther, MI(Zone 4b)

Well, I have been good...only have chicks. Too lazy to have anything else.
