chicken eatting dog video!
i liked that, thanks!
MollyD--That is wonderful! I have 5 dogs and am going to have to work with each of them--really admire Caesar's control.
What I always like about his methods is that there is no cruelty towards the dog. He understands them and uses their own way of thinking to get them to do what he wants.
I just loved it when they scared that egg out of the chicken LOL

Well, I won't be having that problem now...We had to put our dog down yesterday. She had gone blind. We think she may have had diabetes, but never checked it because we never thought of it. She was a six year old beagle.
Granny I'm so sorry about your dog. We lost our horse tonight and boy do we hurt.
MollyD
It would never have occured to me that a six year old would have diabetes either. I am so sorry.
Thank you both for your condolences.
hugs to granny and gramps too!
Thanks, TamaraFaye. Your sympathy is appreciated.

Only thing that bothers us is the quiet now. She had her licenses on her collar and they would jingle whenever she went anywhere. Now, I keep listening for the "jingle, jangle" of them. It's been a while since our house was so quiet.

Granny two years ago we had to put down our 17 year old dog. He had the jingle jangle tags too and it took a while to get use to not hearing them.

Told the DH I was going to put all Penny's stuff in a box in the garage. Picked up her bowl, some of her toys (she was the first dog we have had that played with her toys and didn't tear them up), have to get her collars and her harness and leash from the car. Haven't been able to yet.
Don't know if we will ever have another dog. It will take some time to get over her. I think it was too unexpected because she was too young. Only 6 yrs old.
And thanks for understanding about it.
Granny, How awful, but you do need to give annother dog a home. Beagles are wonderful and there are often ones up here in Traverse in the paper, the humane society and on freecycle. Too much love and no dog to give it to, is a sad thing. So is too much love and no human to give it to. I'll be thinking of you.
Jyl, we raised beagles for 20 years when we lived downstate. I always had a larger house dog, tho. Dobies and Bouvs. Just prefer larger dogs. The beagles were rabbit dogs, and since DH can't chase rabbits any more, we really don't want another rabbit dog.
Penny was given to us by her parents owner after we helped him find his beagle who got lost on a snowshoe trail. Otherwise we wouldn't have had her. DH had a hard time when we moved because we gave away all of our dogs because he didn't want to be tied down.
So, we will wait and see.

hey,if you're looking for a larger dog,
My Great Dane "Vixen" is due to whelp on Monday the 28th
Thanks, Crestedchik, but not right away. DH is also saying that he doesn't want any dog for at least a while, if ever again. Only time will tell if we get another one.
Again, thanks

Sending you hugs, granny. Been there, and done the weeping.
Thanks, brigidlily, done it before too, but it never gets old. Still will do the weeping again when it happens for the cats, too.
