Back yard mini shows Tuesday 4-22

Nederland, TX(Zone 9a)

It's been overcast here most of the day and a battle has ensued over my mini show in the back yard. Buddy Short being the great man he is posted on another site and since his mini show was in was in his own back yard he won head table. Can't complain there Congrats Buddy if you read on here. So I am assuming I get to take home the ribbons in my back yard. LOL. Everyone make head table today post your pics and take away the ribbons for their excellent hard work. Have a great growing day!

That is a mighty pretty stand of St. Augustine those beauites are resting on. You obviously have many green thumbs. :-)

Thanks Ardesia,

I really thought it would be dead. There was a time in my yard where I had ROWS and ROWS of gallons after the freak hurricane last year. When I finally moved everything in november It had was worst site ever. Still have some patches here and there. We are about to remodel and I fear it will be gone again. I am adding on and it will take up most of my back yard. :-( I fear the city life and smaller yards, so I just have to enjoy what I can. I still have the front though LOL and my GH which I should put a margarita machine in and a hot tub it. Relax and Kick back in the tropics. All work and no play :-( makes for a bad day. Now hot tubs and margaritas in the tropics :-) Thats what i'm talkin about ;-) I don't even drink but the thoughts of the whole scene are priceless!

Have a great evening!
Robert

Beautiful as usual Robert! Can I ask the name of the red & white one in the bottom row?

Nederland, TX(Zone 9a)

Hi Liz,

That would be one of the wierdest blooms I have ever seen called Midnight Madness. Always strange in every way.
But I love the unusual.

Thanks so much,
Robert

It's very different, I didn't think I'd seen it before. It may be strange and weird but I like it! (what does that say about me? LOL)

Let me warn you about remodeling, I am just moving back into the *new* main part of my home today. You will definitly need those Margaritas. LOL

Beautiful picture, Robert! Those blooms are enough to brighten any day - and I award you a Blue Ribbon on today's beauties!!!

I don't have much of a show, but I do have two pretty blooms to share. This first one is a terrific little mini called Paint Pot - I just love the bright colors - it reminds me of sunshine!

And one of my favorites, because you never know exactly how the bloom will look from time to time - Allure.

Have a beautiful evening :-)

Karen--I love the color of Paint Pot, is it really that bright orange in real life? If it is then it's going on my must have list!

Nederland, TX(Zone 9a)

Hello all,

Liz,
I love the off the wall hybrids. Makes it interesting. So what does that say about me. I know karen and Cat feel the same way. That is what makes us a family here!
Alice,
I'll have to take your advice on the Rita's, Maybe it's time!!! LOL We have torn 1 wall out and now deciding what to do. We just put a tarp over it and look at it now. Time to get to work. I did here margaritas make you work harder LOL You do not feel the pain when you slam the hammer on your thumbs, and you just keep on going like the energizer bunny LOL

And the winner in karens yard today. Well we are all in anticipation to hear the vote. It's Karen. Congrats on the beautiful blooms Karen. Great Growing!!! Looking forward to seeing more and more!!! Keep it up and stay well, it was great talking to you today!!!

Robert, What is the purple with a white center, bottom center of the pic?

Kyle :-)

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

I think that's the same one I asked about, except on my computer it looks more reddish instead of purple. If so, it's 'Midnight Madness'

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks!

Kyle :-)

Cool pictures Karen. Paint Pot is really bright and cheery. Maybe that is why I like the speckled orange at the top of Robert's picture. I have some buds in the basement, but I'll probably miss them with the camera.

San Bernardino, CA(Zone 8b)

Brugie, great to see you back! So when can yours come out of hiding? Soon, I hope!

Nederland, TX(Zone 9a)

Hey Kyle,

It is midnight madness

Brugie
The speckled one is actually (Dupont) high definition finally starting to double up. Actually i think it's cat's plant i brought home from the GH. LOL

Alvin, TX(Zone 9a)

Nice, Robert! Your Allure is beautiful!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Karen, it will be at least another two weeks, maybe more. We have wind chills right now below freezing. My brugs are outside and they are staying there. If they get nipped....oh well. LOL!

Robert
Your blooms are beautiful and the info you sent me was excellent. How could I not follow your advise with these results.
Thanks a bunch.
DD
I think you get the blue ribbon again.
