Last call for Korean MG seeds! 3 Varieties available!

Princeton Junction, South Korea(Zone 6a)

Hi everyone,

May is fast approaching and morning glory planting time is coming soon if you haven't already started yours indoors. I managed to replenish my supply of the dark purple "Gloria" morning glory seeds that were so popular and happened to discover another packet of morning glory seeds that contains an assortment of colors and sizes. Here are pictures of all 3 to refresh everyone's memory:

Pharbitis nil 'Choisy' - variegated leaves on this one, big blooms with an assortment of patterns. A real beauty. This exact variety sells for $10 or more on ebay. This variety is sold by Takii seed company in Japan and is very popular according to friends who are teaching English there.

Pharbitis nil 'Gloria' - Dark purple to wine colored blooms with a white throat. I do not believe the leaves are variegated

Pharbitis nil 'Common' - an assortment of pharbitis seed, the merchant told me that the seeds in the packet are not going to yield flowers that are only pink. She told me to expect a wide range of colors.

I've sent out 10 trades today - 8 to the USA and 2 to other countries. I've heard back from several people on this forum who have already received my seeds so rest assured that I will package your seeds to make sure they reach your garden safely. I'm currently living in South Korea to visit relatives and teach English so I thought I could do everyone a favor by sending them seeds that cost way too much in the USA. I plan on visiting Japan this August since it's only an hour away from Korea and will be sure to bring back tons of MG seeds to share. I'm feeling really homesick and would love to trade for herbs, flowering annuals, perrenials, all types of named hardy hibiscus, pumpkins such as Long Island Cheese, Rouge Vif d'estampes, Jack O'Lantern types for Halloween (my Korean students have never seen a real life Jack O'Lantern before), and of course other morning glory seeds. I'm looking especially for exotic cooking herbs like epazote, mexican herb papaloquelite (aka summer cilantro or papalo), flat leaf cilantro, and tomatillos. Taco shells are non existent here. Shredded mozzarella cheese costs $6 a bag! I'm also an heirloom tomato and pepper fan as well. Some varieties I'm looking for are Isis candy, Marianna's peace, German Red Strawberry, and Dr. Carolyn Pink. Some chiles that I'm looking for include Pasilla Bajio, puta de madre, Aji Crystal, Mayan Love Apple, Purple Tiger, Bellingrath Gardens, and Aji Omnicolor. Of course, I'm also missing good ole' American morning glories as well! Knowlian's black, Grandpa Ott, Flying Saucers, Pearly Gates, Moonflowers, Crimson Rambler, Star of Yelta, Joyce Cobb, Rebecca, and whatever else you may have.

Looking forward to trading with you!
Elizabeth

Elizabeth, I apologize, but as much as I would love to trade for your seeds, I've gotten overextended and need to back out. Thanks for offering them, though.

Hi momcat,

you're right, I didn't discover the third packet until I went to the flower market last weekend. Don't worry about sending me something in return. I'll get out the third pack to you early next week. Right now, I'm swamped at work so I won't be able to get to the post office by 4 pm.

Oh Elizabeth, thank you so much. Have you gotten the seeds I sent you for the first two packages, yet. They said it would take about a week, so you should have gotten them. If you decide you want me to send you something later, just let me know.

OK, I have 2 varieties left, many packets of the "Choisy", and a 2-3 of the "common variety". I'm all out of the purple "gloria". It will take an average of 10-12 days to get seeds from South Korea. Sometimes less. Anyone interested in a swap?

Hi everyone,

I visited the Seoul flower market again yesterday afternoon and managed to pick up some more of the "Choisy" and the dark purple "Gloria". I'm all out of the last one, "common", but am open to trades for the first two. Please post here so I know who to expect dmails from as I don't always get all of them. At this time, I'm looking for trades only. Herbs, flowers, anything fragrant, named brugmansia cross seeds, heirloom chiles, tomatoes, flowers, vines, key lime and meyer lemon seeds are a few things I'm looking for.

Thanks.
Elizabeth
