I will try to get a picture that you can see...if she'll let me get close to her again....
but one of my Golden Cascade hens has white "stuff" coming out of her eyes....
I thought it was foamy...but when I finally got her - it kinda disappeared....maybe it was
the way her head was tilted....but my other cascades don't have this problem....Now....on
her right foot....the web is kinda "cut" from her outside toes....so she's limping - but getting
around fine and swimming okay. I'm not sure how it happened...but I hadn't noticed it until I saw
her eyes. I first figured she was dying somehow...and that nature would take it's course....but now
I'm thinking that if it's something that one of you know how to treat - I can get her healthy again. Anyways - all this started yesterday afternoon.....so if you have any ideas - let me know!
Thanks so much!!!!!! (oh....and no vets for ducks around me.....)
Duck problem! Help please!
I hope somebody who knows comes and helps soon...
me too! :)
I just took another look at her....she's actually missing a toe! Poor thing! Could something have chopped it off while she's swimming in my pond?? I know I have snappers.....hmmmm......
Her eyes are looking a little bit better....but still - ANY IDEAS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?
Thanks for your help!
That sounds sad! My duck is missing her back toe (the one that keeps her from falling backwards I think). A hen got into it with her and bit it off. She has adapted to it though, and is doing fine now. I would think a snapper would have gotten more then just a toe...but maybe. Not sure about the eye stuff. A picture would certainly help if you could manage one. Maybe wait until she goes to sleep tonight and ducknap her for a picture?
i had a duck lose a toenail once. looked really bad, but it grew back. i sure hope that is all it is.
