Trumpet Vine

Buckeye, AZ(Zone 9a)

Hello,
Does anyone have experience with Campsis radicans (Orange Trumpet Vine) would I be making a mistake putting this in my flower bed? I was reading so many negatives but I did not see any local responses, any help would be appreciated before I make a terrible mistake...lol
I think I can take it back and exchange it for another clematis.

Carla - the question is: how much room do you have? It gets BIG & will swallow the side of a garage. But it's very pretty in bloom. You could always practice your whacking skills - but it will come back with a vengeance. Still, it's soooooo pretty.....

I have it growing around a huge stump. It is pretty but it took years to bloom Heidi

Thanks you both, I think it is going back...if they will take it, I bought it at Skagit Valley Gardens, guess I'll call before I head up that way!

Well, if you change your mind, I've got seedlings.....teeny tiny seedlings...

Carla - don't take it back - i will buy it from you. i have a great place for it with plenty of room to spare, plus it needs the colour. Dragonfly on sunday - are you going to be there? Bring it with you, if you still have it and wish to part with it.

Carla, You can drop it off when I see you in AM, and I can get it to Katye, you can figure out the rest.

Sorry, it is gone now...took it back and got a clematis. Wish I had known earlier it would have saved me a trip. It was a very nice specimen with lots of new buds.
