I just got a booster the other day. Since I work out in the dirt a lot, it is good to get them every five years. Most people get them at 10 years, but my doctor, my mother's doctor and information I have read says five years for gardeners. I was just wondering how often you all get a booster if you work in the dirt.
Tetanus shots
10 years if I remember...
I will have to ask my Doc. if I need one. Thanks for reminding us.
Yes, I just wanted to ask in case it has been a while. Good to be safe if you are a gardener.
Haven't had one since High School and that's been....well....more than 10 years....
I'm 60 years old and I haven't had a Tetanus shot since I was a child ... probably @ 12 years old! And, I play in the dirt all the time so I guess I've been pretty lucky! Maybe I've acquired an immunity to tetanus? I am forever being stuck with thorns and splinters too but have not had a problem in all these years.
Oh, that is a while. A lady in Victoria got it from a thorn in a rose bush, not good. It scares me so I am careful. If something can be prevented, I always do it.
I haven't had a tetanus shot in over 20 years because I haven't needed one. Twenty years ago I cut my leg with a rusty piece of the fence and got one then.
Well, since I tend to be accident prone, my doctor makes sure I am up to date -- probably every five years or less. Probably a good idea for all of us grubbing around inthe dirt!
I had one about 4 years ago after the first time I got bit by a cat... They hurt, I mean the cat bite.. I would rather get bit by a dog then a cat....
Hugs,
susan
I googled it, not good to get.
