Hello, All. I just spent a wonderful hour pouring over Dave’s. Wow! There is a wealth of information and a very large group of helpful people here. I moved into my current home about four years ago. I live on 20 acres in Newberry Springs, CA which is in the Mojave Desert. I used to live in San Diego where if you dropped it onto the ground it would grow. Not so here. We get about 4 inches of rain a year. From February through April and into early May we get wind. Yesterday winds were 35 to 50 with gusts to 50. We’ve had wind that actually lifted my 9’ x 36’ solar array out of the ground. In the summer temperatures over 110° are not uncommon. I need trees for shade, something to block, or at least, break the wind and it all has to grow in the desert. Are we having fun yet? Any and all assistance and/or commiseration cheerfully accepted.
