A question about the lotus I started from seed

Warren, OH(Zone 5b)

Hi,
I started 10 lotus from seed and the green part is about 5 inches long now. Do I need to harden them off before I plant them in the pond? They are growing in a heated portable greenhouse right now at 70 degrees and my little pond water is still really cold. How to I introduce them to the pond, this is my first experience with them.
Thank you, Kathy

Hi guspuppy, if it were me, I would wait until the water temp in your pond is the same temp as what it has been growing at. Do you have any leaves showing?

No leaves, but I kept putting it in a taller container cuz they kept growing and now they are in a wastebasket! lol Will the ends die if I don't keep putting it in a deeper container?

You don't want to break the growth tips. Does it have any white roots?

Crazy,
Heheh, love that name. ROTFL The seeds are still on the bottom of them, do I let them fall off on their own?
