new to bulbs

Sulphur, LA(Zone 9a)

I've never done bulbs before and am new to gardening. Can I still plant bulbs in my zone this late if so what kind?

Thanks
Denise

Divernon, IL(Zone 5b)

Summer bulbs should do ok. Glads, Dahlias, canna, crocosmia, eucomis,
Gloriosa, Amaryllis, Hymenocallis, Ixia, Nerine, Tuberose, Scadoxus, Tigridia, Zantedeschia, Zephyranthes...

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Don't forget Caladiums too.

Thank you both for the help :) I think I know what I'll be doing tomorrow!

Lake Placid, FL(Zone 9b)

Now is the perfect time to plant Caladiums.....

west Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

I cannot recommend Dahlia's for deep south (hot and humid that is) and Nerine filifolia is the only Nerine that persists down here.

Also add Crinums, Schizostylus coccinea (now called Hesperantha coccinea) for damp areas, Cypella species, Rhodophiala's, Herbertia species, Bessera Elegans, Chilidanthus fragrans (the most fragrant bulb there is--in my opinion), and Habranthus species.
