Grapes

Frisco, TX(Zone 7b)

This is my third year for grapes. I hear that this is the year they start to produce.

Are these the beginnings?

We have grown grapes for several years with varying success. Yes, those are the beginnings. Congratulations!

Okay,

I go outside today, and I get this.

Is something eating the little buds, or do they normally look like this?

That's the little bitty flowers.

That looks so interesting. Do you plan to make wine if you have enough?

banana18,

I have three types of grapes. But, I misplaced the paper that I drew up three years ago, and forgot them all (:

I know one is a seedless, and one is a preserves. I originally did it, just to see if I could do it. I was unaware of the weight these things create, and I had to remove the rotting wood posts and replace them with aluminum poles and then use the fence behind us.

(Digressing - sorry)

As for wine making, I am not really sure if that is what I am thinking about doing - baby steps ... let's just see if they grow.

Enjoy the adventure. It is fun to see how it grows.
