That is a Chionodoxa (Hyacinthaceae), but they are lovely too and often grow in same gardens as Scilla.

yes, here is another photo of the same plant...there are maybe 20 bulbs in the patch and each one sends up maybe one or two flowers.

Hi, the easiest way is to compare the flowers: Scilla - flowers nodding down, Chinodoxa - flowers facing upwards. Please compare also the stamens, they look different.
