Anyone else attend the show today? I was really excited, especially after the Seattle garden show (I was in complete awe and really happy to be there)... I knew it would be smaller-scale, but I was let down by the very small amount of garden booths. I did enjoy Steve the Whistling Garden's talk, I thought he was entertaining... and I did pick up a few plants (got my first mock orange), and loved the deals on the trellis's at the beginning of the walk... but overall was disappointed. Oh well.
A little disappointed in the Everett Home and Garden Show
Hi Cat,
I didn't go to Everett, but I do go to the Portland shows too, and they don't even measure up to the Seattle one, so I can relate. The Clark County ones are even smaller. (The Clark Co one is in one of the barns at the fairgrounds...) I like the lower-cost and having them be a little less overwhelming, though. And, seeing more real local businesses is good.
Yes, I completely agree with you on the small local nurseries... I did enjoy getting some grasses and a shrub at a much lower price, as well as the lower price of admission! I guess its my own problem, we just had the roof and siding replaced on our house, and it seems like that was the majority of vendors there. But I did love the garden-related booths, all of them! :)
Oh, well, that's just one of those things-if you were WANTING to find someone to do siding, all the vendors would have been selling barbeque grills or gutter covers, or hot tubs!
