Standard White Wyandotte Eggs?

Lincolnville, ME(Zone 5a)

Anyone out there know anyone that breeds standard size White Wyandottes? I don't want to get chicks from MMH and they seem to be the only ones that have them.

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

you want white?

WHY?

Lincolnville, ME(Zone 5a)

Contrary to what most people believe, white is not the absence of color...Scott

Fritch, TX(Zone 6b)

no, but around here it is the flag of invitation to flying AND walking predators and sport killers...

Lincolnville, ME(Zone 5a)

Yikes! I never gave that a thought...I have a fox den within 50 yards of my chickens, but I have been patrolling to make sure that it is still empty.

Anyone want a WW rooster and three WR pullets?

Columbia, TN(Zone 7b)

Waving hand! I'd like them!

no worries there Molly, your white geese will keep predators away!

yeah, you're welcome Scott! ^_^

And I don't have any Wyandottes either!

Molly,
I wasn't being serious - so sorry. But, I will have plenty of extra chickens soon, as mine are starting to show sex. I will only be keeping maybe 50 out of somewheres around 170 that I have now. There will be many extra roos and some pullets also. Problem is I believe its quite a ways from me to you. Are you planning a trip to Maine any time this summer?

Columbia, TN(Zone 7b)

Don't I wish! I know it's out of the question because we'll have a full house of critters after May 6th. Chickens, geese, goats, horse and dogs. Don't know anyone crazy enough to come in and take care of all those for us!

Maybe some other time it might work out. I've been wanting some Delaware pullets. All I could get from Ideal were 5 Delaware roosters. Without pullets those boys are going to end up fricassee ! Maybe some time you can send some fertilized eggs once I get my incubator (homemade) up and running. I still need a thermostat and a hygrometer. Then it's good to go!

Thanks!

I will be thrilled to send you eggs in the spring!
The Delawares are beautiful birds, and endangered too - I believe I read that somewheres. Maybe I could send you Columbian Wyandotte eggs, which are close in the color and patterns to a Delaware.

That would work for me! Of course I would reimburse you for the shipping!

Thanks!

MollyD
