Auntumn Chores

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Greetings ~

I keep pretending that Autumn is not just around the corner (it still *feels* like summer with temps still flirting with 100*F), but today I have unequivical proof - there are buds on that there Mr. Lincoln rose bush again. That, coupled with the fact that the late season peaches are now ripening and most of the corn fields have been harvested are sure portents that Autumn is coming... still, the majority of the human population here in the San Joaquin Valley (CA) won't notice until the weather cools down below the 90*'s - in about a month or two! Farmers know, though. And those of us fortunate enough to observe them and their crops and livestock.

Right now spent fields are being plowed under, and 2nd or 3rd cuttings of hay are curing, waiting for the old gentleman with his straw hat and bailer. Just curious what type of fall chores you all are/will be doing.

Many blessings to you.

Karla

(OK, typo in the title - just checking to see if you were awake ;-)
