Can anyone identify this foliage? Bloomed with white stars

Mackinaw, IL(Zone 5a)

This was here when we bought the house, all along the west wall and part of the shady NW corner. That first year, it bloomed with little star-shaped white flowers that almost looked glittery, but it's now been 5 years since I saw a bloom. Any guesses what it is? Any ideas to get it to bloom again?

(ignore the big dandelion--I didn't have my dandelion popper tool with me when I went out to photograph my daffs and hyacinths!)

Bet it's this:

Leaves look too thin to be Chionodoxa.

I agree, the foliage looks like this. I have some of these (in zone 4b, but lives on). One point: put it somewhere where you walk close by, it's diminutive and goes unnoticed unless it's along the path. Perhaps it need to be separated to get some bloom.

Hmmm, wish I'd gotten a picture of it blooming, but I *think* it only had 5 petals, not six. Foliage looks similar, but mine looks a lot finer, denser, and darker green. It really hasn't spread, either. It has tiny little bulbs. I'll try to take a picture of them tomorrow. . .

edited to say:
DH just got home, and said he thinks it had a tiny bright yellow or purple center. Ring any bells?

edited again to say:
LOL Never mind on the yellow center. He was thinking of the tiny narcissus on the west of the house.

How about Star of Bethlehem? I frequently don't get to see it bloom because the bunnies eat it. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/177451/

Moby, I think you just might have hit it! Those leaves really do look like what I have, and though it's been several years since I saw the flowers, those do look familiar.

Think it might bloom if I divide it? Would bulb booster or some kind of fertilizer help?

Danielsville, GA(Zone 7b)

I till the bed where I have mine, and they get thicker, due to cutting the bulbs into.Thats OK, because they bloom before I sow annuals.Mike

Yes Moby, I get them mixed up.Thanks

Happy to be of help. :)

Moby, I thought you were an Iowan! I keep seeing your name (and picture LOL) popping up in old Iowa RU threads. . .

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

LOL Only at heart ~ those Iowans are such fun you can't help but hang out with them. I also belong to the Iowa Regional Lily Society (as do several Iowa DGer's) because we don't have one here and Nebraska falls under their 'region'. We're got a handful of DG members around so we might have a little RU of our own someday.

Mike ~ Star of David, Star of Bethleham...? What the heck, they're all Biblical. ;)
