Hanging plant

i'm not sure if this is the right forum, but I am looking for a year round, blooming plant that I can hang in my south facing window year round and that doesn't get straggly in the winter. Someone suggested begonies - I've only really had the small ones with small flowers and am not crazy about them plus they didn't hang. I live in zone 5b.

A Goldfish plant maybe? Or a hoya? You should get enough sun in a south window for either of these plants (might be a bit too much for the goldfish - but can you filter the sun with blinds?) I'm not sure about a columnea, never had one, but others will chime in with better ideas, I'm sure.

Lipstick vine whould love a southern exposure. I used to have one in a south window in my other house and it was beautiful. I don't have the right kind of light for one here :

someone gave me a hoya with leaves that are crinkled, dark green with pink and white edges, very pretty. What do you think about that? Is it a fast grower? I don't kow anything about Hoyas.

If yours has the pink/white edge it is probably this one the variegata: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/73773/

I don't have the Hindu Rope Hoya but it is supposed to be one of the fragrant ones!

I can't really say how long it would take to bloom, some take a few years to get to the blooming stage. I do think that most Hoyas prefer to be root bound so I would keep it in a small pot.
