parakeet-was it a dream or earthquake?

I was prepared to come here this morning and ask if anyone knows if birds, parakeets particularly, dream. I was telling DH what happened last night and he told me about the earthquake (he works nights so was more up on it than I, who had just gotten out of bed).

Around 4:30 (CST) Aruba started freaking out in his cage. Flapping all over the place!! It woke me up in the next room so I went in to see what was the matter. After I talked softly to him a minute, I covered him back up and then he was quiet the rest of the night. I immediately started wondering if he could have had some bad dream and why would he.

According to DH, that is right about the time of the earthquake and he was thinking maybe Aruba actually felt something of the earthquake.

Does anyone here have any thoughts or did your critters show signs of feeling the quake? It's not like we are close to where it was or anything. DH did say though that he heard on the scanner at work that people as close as 30-45 miles south of here were calling to find out what was going on as they felt small tremors.
