This is a Mary Haik cross of KBS x Butterfly grown out at Seedsprout nursery by Brenda Delph. This cultivar has done very well here in south florida. Since I am trying to get more yellows and oranges into my collection this has been a welcomed addition. The corolla is the thickest and waxiest of any brug that I've seen making it more resistant to wind and rain storms. She's also great in resisting bugs. Definitely an A+ in my book.

If you want more orange, what about Nairobi Sunset? We have lots of rooted cutting from the plant you sent a couple of years ago. Would you like us to send you some?

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

Kenboy, do you have photos of Nairobi Sunset? I'd like to see what she looks like.

Fort Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10b)

Yes Ken I lost the mamma plant so I would like a replacement. Thanks! Like I said I would like to do more hybridizing work with colors other than pink. There are so many beautiful pinks out there I think it's time to diversify our efforts into a broader spectrum of colors.

Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

I'm with you on any other color but pink. If you are soon going north, D-mail us your addie and we will ship it to you. I would also like to send it to a few other people to see how it grows in other areas. I do think it is worthey of naming.

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

Ken, is La Grange different enough? This part of 8b is more consistent with 9a temperatures. If you have a spare cutting, I would love to trial it for you.

I will think about registering her this year. Let's just see how she does i other zones.

Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

Betty I am trialing it for Gary, lol. He sent it to us because he knew we like orange. I think we can get you a cutting. I should say plant. I rooted a flat of 6-packs (36 and everyone rooted. I guess we can say it roots easy. I also want to send one to Big Al in Michigan, he being another orange lover.

I had contacted Brenda at Seed Sprout about TSS earlier and she said she was no longer cultivating and selling it because it was not a big seller.

What can I say....I will personally try to keep this one around!!

I just about can't believe how big those leaves are in the first photo. Or the flowers smallish?

Fort Lauderdale, FL(Zone 10b)

The leaves are big....not the biggest I have though....:}

Reminds me of a friend that had one of those chicken houses with 10,000 birds. Ragweeds fifteen feet tall and still growing!

Now I'm wondering how big your elephant ears are! lol

Pittsburg, MO(Zone 6b)

Mary Haik is very beautiful and I'm with you about the pinks. We need more yellows, oranges and peaches.
