Kathy, if you find someone with a plant growing in the ground, they should be able to dig you some 'pups' or baby plants - it spreads like fury.

Kathy,

My parents are growing the normal purple as well as a white one. They've had them for more than 30 years. I can get you some small plants of the white for sure and think I can get the purple as well. Let me know if you want me to check on you - I know that I mow down the white ones every week,.

I have purple--lmk if you need some--before we move!!!

Cumberland Mtns, TN(Zone 6b)

Hi...mine were here when I moved here 3 years ago. How do I know if they are 'old fashioned' or not. I have lots of new plants coming up.

I've never traded before. any suggestions?

Smyrna, DE(Zone 7a)

Hi nanniepb----

When I said "old fashioned", I more meant "common". The lovely light lavender color and the sweeter scent. The "French" are a darker purple and not as sweet to the nose. Trading is easy! You offer something of yours for something you want. You each pay your own postage. If you don't have anything to trade, then you usually pay postage for what you want.

Hope this helps.
