how do I wake them up?

Hopkins, MN(Zone 4a)

Well, we've just warmed up here in MN to a "whooping" 55-65*, and all of my bulbs I planted in the ground in the previous are really taking off, but not the new bulbs (they are from BC, about 60-70 of them) I planted in the pots that I stored in a cool place and potted in Feb, and kept them outside since then. Only two are shyly peeping out (no leaves yet), and almost feel like digging down to see if they are even sprouting in those pots.
Does anyone know if there a way to hurry them up, like watering or fertilizing?

Hi lizzardance...

I surely am no expert, but I would say since you potted them and put them outside, that the bulbs are trying to survive the cold and start putting on the roots in order to grow their little leaves. I say they are doing good if you are seeing any growth at all... but you didn't say what kind of bulbs either. You might could bring them inside, and set near a south facing window. Liking the sun and the warmth of your home, it would make them think it's spring.

Yep... makes you want to do a little digging just to reassure yourself...lol, but if you are seeing growth... just hang in there a little while longer!!

Do you have a garage you can put them in? It's really a little early in your zone to be seeing much yet. When they start growing in the garage you can bring them out.

Thanks Beck and Claus, - I just thought it wasn't too early because I can already see all of my tulips and grape hyacinthswith a LOT of green growth above the ground, - just no flowers yet. The ones that don't want to come out are the ones in pots, - tulips and daffodils.

As previously said they will be busy making roots first so be careful of poking around too much or you may damage them. They will come up when it is time! :)
