Husband picked them up this morning and said they are healthy and huge. We will see how they grow. Standards, straight run. I paid $4.32/pullet chick and $2.22/male chick at McMurrays to have them die on me from their AE problem.
I haven't seen these new ones yet, but husband said they appear every bit as good as McMurray's if not better. AND, they were $1.19/chick! I have never been to this hatchery (about 1 hour 15 minutes away) but he said it was clean, and the people were very, very friendly. He said I would have loved the place. I think I may have to get some more chicks :) He said, "cool it" for now. I do have a lot of chicks running around, but they are so darned addicting... Wish I wasn't at work. I can't wait to see them. Why do we have to pay for our "habits"? Hee Hee Hee
Well, my Partridge Cochins from the small hatchery are here!
that is soooo GREAT!
kno what you mean aobu thabits... everytime i go to buy chick starter, i am tempted with mor echicks... this last time i had to have the only self blue OEG to later go with one we hatched... but to keep warm he needed five buddies, so got another partridge cochin [mine are bantam], two whites, and two birchens...
so, when you get home, take LOTS of pictures! we would love to share in your joy!
