Sending out some smells....

Napa, CA(Zone 9b)

I hae really been enjoying the smells in my yard right now.....thought I would share some!

Osmanthus fragrans. This big tree and 3 in large pots on patio. Behind the Osmanthus is a 6-7 ft Meyer lemon that you cant see and also not the wisteria on the arbor.

This is my Michelia which is about 30 feet right of the above Osmanthus. This one is Jack Fogg and it is taller than the house. Also next to the patio on the other side is a 6 foot Michelia figo in bloom.

This jasmine is in the front but there is another one in full bloom about 15 feet from the patio..

Beautiful! I love Osmanthus, it just has the most lovely fragrance.
Your garden looks beautiful, do you have more pics to share?

I can just smell it now....Osmanthus is my favorite....oh and your wisteria is just lovely.....thank you for sharing. Also love the Jasmine.....that is one full bush. Do you seem to get lots of bees around with all the flowers open? They would be in heaven in your garden.

Gorgeous....absolutely gorgeous!!! What type of jasmine is it you have there?

San Diego, CA(Zone 10b)

Plantmum, your jasmine is beautiful, how do you feritlize it?

Napa, CA(Zone 9b)

Thanks. Its a Jasminum polyanthum, about 10 years old, never fertilized. After it finishes blooming its going to get a major haircut.I will probably take all of it off the top and just leave the sides to grow back.

San Diego, CA(Zone 10b)

Wow! And they are blooming beutifully! I thought it was J. polyanthum, I have 2 climbing up a trellis on my front porch, but they are not blooming too much right now...they did get a big flush last month but it's not coming back!

We had a mini heat wave last weekend and that signaled the beginning of the end of my blooms. Has it gettn warm down there yet? They may not bloom as long in So. Ca.?

San Diego, CA(Zone 10b)

Ha! So they don't like too much heat? That's it then! It's SO HOT over here right now!

Your place must smell like Heaven. You are so lucky. Beautiful gardens. Thanks for sharing those.
