Bouncing Bet/Soapwort

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

I dug up some to give to a friend starting a butterfly garden...then I realized she had wanted beebalm. (Too many "b" )Is bouncing bet good for any part of the butterfly's life cycle?

These websites may be of interest to her. I didn't see any references to spiderwort.

Bananna ~ I've not noticed them on mine but they are listed as a butterfly/hummer plant... http://www.lotf.com/misc/butterfly/butterfly.htm

Listed here as a butterfly nectar plant... http://members.aol.com/YESbutrfly/nectarplants.html

Here as adult butterfly food... http://www.allowaycreek.com/butterfly.htm

Tell her hush and just enjoy the blooms. LOL She can plant the taller bee balm behind it.

Pod, the purple cone flower has come up. I think every single seed germinated.
Just planted the blackberry lilies this week. It has just been too cool. Sorry, to be sooo stupid but I don't remember what the other two were. They have been planted a long time and may have already come up and I don't even know it. Because I plant mostly seed, everyday is a surprise.

Thanks again,

Christi

Hi LouC ~ if my notes serve me, I also sent Lady in Red Salvia coccinea, purple Celosia spicata and Angelonia in white, lavender and purple. Look forward to your photos when you start getting surprised by blooms and scratching your head about what they are. LOL May you enjoy!
