Meet Babebera-(from Ken & Maggi)
What a sweet baby.. bet she does not have any idea she is not a lap dog.
What kind of dogs are they?
Great Pryenees-Babebera Daisymae- pot belly piggy who thinks she is a dog...lol
We went fishing this weekend and when we came home all three Pyrenees were gone, momma pappa and babby. They have not shown up yet.
Sorry to hear they disappeared. Hope they come home soon.
uh oh....
That is one big and beautiful puppy. It is amazing how clean your white animals stay even being outside.
Kenboy, I am so sorry to hear your dogs are missing. Be sure to let us know if they come home.
Tussee
They came home about an hour ago (a bit after 3 a.m.) Well, Eleanor and Beorn came home, but not the pup.
Meggi and Ken I am so sorry. I will be praying for the little one to find his way home.
Nadene, I held that pup in my two hands a while back.
bless your heart....prayers for the puppy to find his way home.....we have pyrenees too and know how special they are...big hugs, lynda
Beorn and Eleanor came home, Beorn announced their arrival at 3:15 this morning. I went out to greet them hug them and kiss them. Then I couldn't get back to sleep of course. Then I got up and gave Eleanor her special 'treat' - it contains Equipride, among other things.
The pup, Pumpkin, did not come home. She may have been injured and Mom and Dad may have been trying to help her - or - my personal foolish hope is that someone took her away and Eleanor and Beorn were trying to find her.
In any event I have been home all day, hoping against hope, but no pup still.
Great Pyrenees do the job that needs to be done here, keeping the predators away from Ken's peafowl, but it is very hard on a tender heart to go through this every year or so. People ask why we don't fence them in, but Pyrenees will go through or over any fence in a hot second to chase down a coyote, so that's really not an option. Beorn is the first male Pyrenees we've had for any length of time and we will be sad when he has finally left us, we are overjoyed today that he is still with us.
By the way, the Brugmansia 'Sam' was named after one of our male Pyrenees. My Sam got hit on the road and dragged himself home for 5 days with 2 broken hind legs. I nursed him back to health and then he disappeared, I am so hoping that he was picked up by someone who loves him as much as I did. My 'Sam' Brug has a special place in the garden every year and has his little angel that Ruth Debiaso sent when he was injured planted right next to him always. My Sam was a truly special guy.
OH Goody!! whew!! glad the dogs came home..sorry about Pumpkin....:(
Oh..perhaps she'll return.. and is at least healthy... I wanted to check this evening and find she had walked in later.. I'm so sorry...
Gee.. it seems they need LoJack .. do they make a dog collar version..
continued prayers... Gordon
Maggi, I'm so sorry Pumpkin as disappeared. Losing a beloved pet leaves such a deep void. I know certain dogs are difficult to keep in a small yard. We have one such dog — an Australian Shepard/Border Collie mix. She lives to be with her cows and coyotes are her number #1 enemies. Fortunately for us, we're really isolated with almost no traffic to speak of, just the two neighbors farther down our road.
I hope you find Pumpkin.
On the subject of the 'Sam' Brug, I had posted a picture somewhere else with his bloom color earlier in the year. I am hoping to get LOTS of cuttings from him this year, I think he's more than worth a place in any garden/collection.
He's not as big and vigorous as some other doubles, but he is definitely a beauty and well worth any extra care. I would like to try a hanging basket with some above the 'y' cuttings - I think he would be a good one!
He is beautiful, and the Brug isn't bad either.
Love the dog and the brug.
Oh Maggie.. your story about Sam is very touching. I think the Brug that you named after him is absolutely gorgeous.
I hope Pumpkin makes it home. Please keep us posted.
Moodene, you pup is UNBELIEVABLE!
Oh Moodene! I remember your posting when you got her! LOOK how she's grown! I used to have Newfoundlands, they are such gentle loving dogs... ours would stay in front of our girls (toddlers at the time) and not let them within 20ft of the street. The big ones really don't realize how big they are, kind of like the pig thinking it's a dog... I think it's great Ken & Maggi can let them run free. That Sam brug IS a looker! The color is so rich and intense!
I keep checking the posts, hoping he has been found. I feel really bad for you.
Linda
Still no Pumpkin. Teresa, we did not name the Brug after our Sam. Our friend Delisa did, what a jewel.
Bummer....but I do know Babebera's other sister- Sugar I brought back with me to a friend is doing great..he works nites(at home) and she is up at nite with him..makes a perfect pair together..LOL....
Nadine
OH NOOO, Kenboy! I'm so sorry! :-(
Yes Delisa is a doll.
Just got a word from this guy's sister- Sugar will be coming to live with me since the guy is having to move to Tennessee for a long term rehab care. I am not going into that with anybody why..but atleast Sugar will have her sister-BabeBera to play with soon..not sure when...:(
I am picking up Sugar tomorrow evening...
I think momma dog is expecting again so it may not be long before we have puppies again.
Got good news again..found someone who wanted Sugar!!! Yea!!! she is going to a good home too..big yard to play in...hahaha..
More puppies?????????? Kenboy.....ya know what starts that stuff..huh???...lol....
