species or early hybrid gladiolus

i really am looking for someone to trade me some of theirs but are there places besides old house that have these bulbs? i also see that telos has some. also, is anyone seed starting any of these? where'd you get your seeds? thanks.

For gladiolus species seed, Silverhill Seeds can't be beat. They carry both winter growers (possible if you have light or no frost in winter, good "test" is if you can grow freesia, ixia, or sparaxis outdoors) which need to be lifted to stay dry during summer, and summer growers which behave more like the hybrid glads. Everything they have is 3 bucks a pack, and while not overly generous with seed count, enough is there to get a start. Best time to sow is now for summer growers (before it gets too hot), fall for winter growers. I order from them online frequently, the seeds take a few weeks to get here, since they route them through a relative in the midwest (I think they wait till they have a bunch of orders to the US so as to save money on postage and phytos). the winter growers bloom early in the spring. maybe like byzantium glads? now here we have wet winters and springs and dry as a bone in the summer. so dry our earth cracks.

the summer growers bloom in the summer like regular hybrid glads?

do i have that right? our temps here prob. range between 25 to 110 F.
