I found a caterpillar on my Cherie. It's eaten a hole in a bloom. Does anyone know what it is?
caterpillar i.d.
Gosh, I don't have a clue what kind of critter that might be but I do sympathize with you, I found a different caterpillar eating one of mine last year. Grrrrrrrr
Be sure to check the undersides of your leaves and make sure there are no others hanging around waiting for the perfect bud to open.
Well, I'm hoping to see a pretty butterfly, but I'll have to see if cocoon has formed. Must check the plant for more, as you suggest. The birds get a lot of these critters.
:-))))
I tend to save the cats for the birds or for butterflies also but I try to move them to an appropriate (they are fussy critters) host plant that I am willing to sacrifice.
Next time I see one I'll do that. I do have some chowed-down butterfly weed!
