I recently bought some JMG seeds from a wonderful seller and bought 2 packs of the same ones by accident. I don't need them all and wanted to trade them...it is wrong to say were I got them and link to her page with the photo? I don't want to take business away from someone but I don't need 20 seeds... I felt kind of funny about it and want to continue to buy her seeds.
Trading Ettique Question
I think that's a no no becuase it's basicly advertising. No one needs to know exactly where they came from just say you over ordered.
Thanks Core but what if I want to link to the picture of it?
look in the plant files and see if its there or not.
The only picture I come up with is on her site..nothing in plant files.
Hmmm, glad YOU asked that question...I think I may have done that before when I couldn't find a particular plant in the plant files...yikes!
ON the flip side....I would think a link might provide MORE busines for that vendor...just a thought. It's not like you copied and pasted their photo, using it as it it were your own...

I don't really think it's wrong if your include something like "Here is what I purchased" as opposed to "Go to this site and buy from them"
That's exactly how I would link " this is what it looks like" kind of thing..
If it's not in plant files that would be alright I think.
What exactly did you get that's not in the plant files? Latin name? The MG section is huge.
Ipomoea nil 'Kai no Kasumi'
I really don't see why this would be a problem, I was under the impression that businesses could not self promote. Being it is not your business and you are using a link only to show a photo of the seeds you are trading there is no advertisement. I have seen this done in other forums with no problems...
If they google the plant name, her site will come up anyway
Just MHO :o)

I found it here. http://onaleeseeds.bizhosting.com/japanese_morning_glory_seeds.html
Doesn't look like an easy one to find. That the one?
They're highly rated in garden watchdog. Don't know if that's where you ordered them from. http://davesgarden.com/products/gwd/c/3443/
Thanks Caren that's kind of what I thought...but felt funny about trading her seeds that I just purchased...
Anyone that knows MGs would understand that no one needs 20 of the same MG seed. Trading is the way to go thou! Trying to re-sell them would be tacky... I don't think you have anything to worry about.
If you still feel weird about it contact her maybe she will exchange some for another variety?? She is a member here and a very nice one! Good luck!
