Tulips with discolored foliage, please help!

Lufkin, TX(Zone 8b)

hi,
i am a complete newbie with tulips. i planted several hundred this winter and for the most part i am very happy with the results. however, there were quite a few that had this discoloration of the leaves and didnt bloom. they are planted in raised beds that drain really well. i spray with Messenger with Mighty plant. used bulb food. sprinkle epson salt around in the beds. use a systemic fungicide on all my plants, Bayleton. i also found some that were barely out of the ground and they had kinda mushed up. might be the same problem.

Tracie, I don't know what causes that, but I've seen it happen before. I planted 100 single late tulips in part of the garden and 3 or 4 are doing that too. I know the spot is well drained, but the soil feels kind of soggy now and I wondered if that had something to do with it. Sometimes I think there are some weak bulbs in the mix.

I too think it's probably a bad bulb. Especially when the others seem to be doing great.

thanks guys. i thought maybe it was some kind of fungus or something.
