This was sooo funny to watch!
Corn thief!
That's funny cause I can't get mine to eat corn!
That is too cute!! lol
HA! Probably discovered that it was safflower and spit it out!
Cute pic, evr. That is a female enjoying the sandwich. What kind of filling was in it?
I don't know gardenpom, she just picked it up somewhere, I wouldn't normally give a squirrel a sandwich lol. Kinda an odd item to give them. How do you know she's a female?
Thought perhaps you were taking Deli orders from the squirrels.
Look closely at her bellie. You can see her mammary glands.
lol. yes. peanut butter and jelly sangwich. That's pretty neat, never knew you could distinguish from xx to xy squirrels. They're often too fast to study at a glance they're like ninjas hopping from roof to roof!
Particularly easy this time of year when they have had babies!!!! ;)
evr, great pics! we have a couple of threads here for squirrles over on the Wildlife Forum too...or you can always start one! We like squirrel pics! :)

I sometimes pick up raw pumpkin seeds from the bulk section of the store and put a handful out at a time. They last quite a bit and not too expensive. And the squirrels do like them. Of course I have a cat, so I put the seeds fairly close to the sliding glass door so she can get excited about being so close. Though sometimes I wonder if it is torture because she can never get it :)
Great shots everyone!
I have tried to find pumpkin seeds in bulk without much luck here.
try a health food store or similar.
ahahaha...now that made me laugh!! That what I need to make up
Cute photos all!!!!
Wonderful pictures. Thanks for sharing.
I have a squirrel mafia at my house. As soon as they hear me in the garden, they come visiting me. I pay them off with sunflower seeds or they hang on my screen. Mine don't like corn, but I have beautiful peanut plants growing all over the yard from their burials.
I have one girl who follows me around, and I have to be careful she doesn't come in my house, garage, porch. I don't try to tame my squirrels. My cats were so shocked when she followed me in the house, they didn't react. Thank goodness. I consider her my squirrel. The rest are the mafia. :)
We have lots more of these pics over on the Wild Life Forum. We would love to have you join us and share your pics or stories! So hop on over to here...

it would be so funny if the squirl tryed to carry that pumpkin
Thieves gathering at my door among all other wildlife-our gardens have been through much so here is an idea any gardeners may wish to try--give your squirrels the corn seeds you plan on planting, or the sunflower seeds you plan on planting this spring, or any other seed you plan on planting this season. Watched as one of our famous squirrels here in the wildlife habitat won the hearts of passerbyers--actually managed to plant a sunflower seed in the crack of a sidewalk-and you should have seen his tomatoes plants. Well let me put it this way--I am going to gather the whole lot of families of squirrels and give them seeds the ones they eat are their rewards upfront in advance-the point is these wildlife critters have that guarantee instinct to plant in the correct location and the results may amaze you-theirs will easily outpace my blooms this year, period--actually this is what happened with the tomatoes, and this odd location for a sunflower. Became a great conversation piece for neighbors to gather and admire something so simple as a sunflower, and those tomatoes--unreal qty. yield--seriously give it a try. Also have patience if they decide to harvest some tomatoes--our families of squirrels here got carried away more then once--adventually wrapped with cloth used in baking--worked fine keep them out, now for the racoon she is simply a dear who loves playing Peek A Boo with the children around here and she is !! going to look everywhere--so again patience; if you decide not to cover your tomatoes and you find one slightly eaten--leave it on the vine. Grant you it is rather gross but it is a signal of territory for wildlife critters--remove it and you will find another one with a bite mark. True and amazing stories. 2gonefishing "God's Garden" Wildlife Habitat In A Big City
