Everyone loves my windowsill!

Redcliff, AB

I see so many birds perching on my windowsill, and I get a great kick out of it. Unfortunately, I don't always have the camera handy, but I did manage to catch a few birds. This chickadee was tapping away at the window and watching me. Coincidence? The feeder happened to be empty.

Then he flew to the shepherd's hook and gave me a piece of his mind...

That is so cute. Isn't it fun when they do that.
Every year, I have hummingbirds fly in front of my LR window, They just look in at us for a while, and then fly off. They just want to say hello. It's so much fun to watch. What's amazing in all of this, they never strike the window.

Really!!! My Goldfinch are so skittish; I would love if one sat on the window sill.

It seems as though as soon as the crows sense my presence in the room facing the feeder they skidaddle. Who do you think is the most skittish of all?

OP birder...
In my yard, it's the titmouse... and you haven't been "cussed" at until you've been "cussed" at by a titmouse!
Mine line up when they hear the deck door open because they know it's time for me to put out more mealworms and they "cuss" at me until I go back into the house then they come down, grab a worm and fly away as fast as they can. Most all the other birds that eat mealies perch on the edge of the dish and chow down. Not the titmice... they grab a worm and bail.

I have a robin that will tap on my bedroom window almost daily for several minutes, then flys off looking confused. I wonder what it wants??

Lawrenceville, GA

rntx.. I've had the same wake-up call, from a robin, every day for 2 months straight! I hope he or she finds a date soon and quits trying to snag the attention (or fight off) their reflection!
I've also noticed when the robin does that, the mealworm feeder is empty. Cooincidence? I think not.

Yeah, it knows you're in there, with a bucket full of mealworms, but that you need reminding to bring them out . . . and it knows that tapping on the window works . . . ;-))

You're right, Resin... they have me trained!
