Ok, now what do I need to put it in besides the cats and leaves?
I read something about wet paper towel...?
I think this is the only way I'm going to get any butterflies until late fall. After giving up on my cats last year, I noticed that I had about eight big, fat cats on my butterfly weed once the weather got a bit cooler.
Thanks.
Bought a cheap aquarium to use for cat hatchery
Hi Jo!
I wouldn't put a "wet" paper towel in the aquarium. Dry, yes! I would line the bottom of the aquarium with paper towels to make the clean-up easier. But definitely not wet!
Also, do not put it out in the yard where it would get sun. The aquarium glass could act as a magnifying glass and fry the cats. You need caterpillars and their host plant (whatever they were eating). A few sticks for them to pupate from. And probably a screen lid to keep them from crawling out.
